Staying safe online while using your iPhone and iPad
In this session, Samantha Nerrie will talk about various fundamentals, including:
- Safe passwords.
- Avoiding Scams and tricks.
- Understanding how to browse more safely.
- Choosing safe browsers.
In order to help others stay secure online, please share your experience if you have recently been the victim of a scam or if you have recently received any scam texts or emails.
7 PASSWORD TIPS:
- Never share your password.
- Change your password on a regular basis.
- Create a strong and easy-to-remember password.
- Use a mix of Symbols, Numbers and Capital Letters.
- Don’t let your browser remember your log on details.
- Never Use Obvious Words or Numbers for Passwords.
- Use a different password to the one you use for other services.
Prevention is the best protection! Never give out your credit card details or click on a link that you are unsure of.
NOTE: You will need to have a Apple account and your password to be able to access your account on the day.
The courses are free and available to seniors 50 and over. Bookings are essential, as numbers will be limited.
Refreshments will be provided.

SoS Digital Support is collaborating with the Bega Valley Shire Library to conduct this series of digital beginner sessions at the Tura Beach Library.
NOTE: You will need to have an Apple account and be able to access it on the day, so be sure to bring your passwords for both your Apple account and your email account.

SoS Digital Support is a newly formed not-for-profit group in the Bega Valley Shire dedicated to assisting seniors aged 50 and older to Get Connected and Stay Connected. We are able to offer this event for free thanks to the support of the Bega Valley Shire Library.

We will be utilising the Be Connected website tutorials, which are part of an Australian Government program aimed at increasing the confidence, skills, and online safety of older Australians when using digital technology. Good Things Foundation works in collaboration with the eSafety Commissioner and the Department of Social Services to deliver this program across Australia.
