I am currently enjoying the warmer weather and all the amazing things to see in the Kimberleys while I type this blog from our campervan.
As many of you may know, my husband has Parkinson's disease, and we are taking our last few trips across the countryside while he is still mobile.
My resignation
Regretfully, during the past year or two, his health has prevented me from managing the group as effectively as I would have wished for. Therefore, I believe it would be better if I resigned and gave the management position to someone who has the necessary time and commitment. I will therefore be leaving at the end of the month after finalising our current grants, but I will continue to be accessible for consultation to the group.
We will be recruiting for the position of President, so please encourage anyone you know who would be interested in applying to get in touch with our Vice-President Trish Howard.
Committee Members - moving forward consist of:
Jason Hetherington who is now in charge of all our marketing and email newsletters.
Deb Mathews will be the new treasurer, effective at the end of the month, and we thank Bev O'Brien for her help over the past few years.
I would like to express my gratitude to Kristy Allworth for her help over the previous year as the secretary. This role is going to be taken over by Alicia Schaefer.
Sam Nerrie, has joined us as our events manager.
Finally, I would like to express a big thanks to our Vice President Trish Howard has been my rock and pillar of support since the group's founding a few years ago; I genuinely do not know where I would be without her. Thank you so much for all of your assistance, Trish. Trish will continue to hold this position until the AGM in Oct.
